news150813snews150820Prof. Zeng Huaqun is going to hold the post of Dean of Faculty of Law, MUST on September 1st, 2015. With many years’ experience in education and administration, Prof. Zeng is knowledgeable about law in terms of teaching and research. It is believed that he is capable of leading Faculty of Law to enhance the quality of education and research, and finally achieve excellence.

Prof. Zeng focuses his teaching and research on the following areas: Theory on International Economic Law, International Investment Law, WTO Laws, and Law Issues on Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. He has also led several key research projects, one of which is “the Legal Regime for Encouragement and Protection of China’s Overseas Investment” sponsored by National Social Science Fund of China.

Graduated from Xiamen University, Prof. Zeng received his bachelor’s degree in History in 1982, master’s degree in Law in 1984, and doctoral degree in Law in 1990. He used to work at College of Law at Willamette University (USA), Faculty of Law at Hong Kong University, Swiss Institute of Comparative Law (Switzerland), School of Oriental and African Studies at University of London (UK), East Asian Institute at National University of Singapore, School of Law at Soochow University, Faculty of Law at University of Macau, Law School at Stanford University (USA), School of Law at University of California, Berkeley (USA), and School of Law at University of San Francisco (USA).

Prof. Zeng has served the society in various professional positions: Deputy Dean of Law Department from 1991 to 1999, Director of International Economic Law Institute since 2000, Director and Co-President of Xiamen Academy of International Law since 2005, Research Associate at East Asian Institute in National University of Singapore since 2008, President of Chinese Society of International Economic Law since 2011, Editor of Chinese Journal of International Law (English version) since 2002, and Member of Advisory Editorial Board for The Chinese Journal of Comparative Law (English version) since 2013.
