MUST and National Library of China Signed A Cooperation Memorandum

A delegation led by Mr. Sun Yi Guang, Vice Librarian of National Library of China, visited Macau University of Science and Technology on November 6th. They were warmly received by MUST principal officers including President Liu Liang, Vice President Pang Su Seng, Vice President Tong Ka Lok, University Librarian Dai Long Ji, and Assistant Librarian Yang Xun Ling.

After visiting the university library, the guests had a meeting with the school principal officers. President Liu stated in the meeting that thanks to the support from the central government after Macau’s returning to the country, and the policy of “one country, two systems”, MUST had been developing rapidly. Drawing on the philosophy that education and research are equally important, and trying to meet the demand of the country and the society, the university has been recruiting outstanding teachers, optimizing the curriculum, and cultivating the students to be innovative and patriotic who are capable of starting their business. Mr. Sun was impressed by MUST’s achievement and its success in becoming one of the top 100 young universities in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan in a short time. Both parties signed a memorandum on cooperation for resource sharing and public service. 

The other visitors were Mr. Zhang Xu, Director of International Exchange Department, National Library of China, Mr. Yao Ting, Chairman of Digital Library of China, Mr. Lin Qing, Vice President of Digital Library of China, Mr. Ng Chi Leung, Chairman of Administrative Committee, Macau Foundation, Ms. Cheng Miu Sze, Director of Division of Cooperation, Department of Subsidies and Cooperation, Macau Foundation, and Ms. Yueng Hoi King, Chief Consultant and Senior Technician of Research Institute Macau Foundation.
