Business students win top award in national marketing contest

Students from School of Business at Macau University of Science and Technology won a Special Prize at the Social Science Award – 9th Marketing Contest of University, which was held in Hangzhou on May 25 and 26, 2018. The “MUSTer”, which is composed of Assistant Professor Bu Hui Mei and Tu Jing Cheng, Zhang Qian Wen, Chen Yi Fei, and Ye Zhen Hua,marketing-major students from School of Business, won recognitions from the assessment panel with their in-depth market analysis and accurate product positioning. They excelled from over a thousand of competing teams, and were placed first in the undergraduates group and won the special prize and were invited by the contest committee to compete in the U.S. In addition, the MUSTers also won the “Marketing Practice and Teaching Model Award” and the “Best Demonstration Team”. One of the team members, Tu Jing Cheng was even invited to give a speech at the national finale as an excellent student representative.

The Social Science Award – 9th Marketing Contest of University is supervised by the National Academy of Economic Strategy and the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, Ministry of Science and Technology, and jointly organized by the Chinese Association of Market Development, the Ministry of Education Association of University Graduates Employment Committee, and the Ministry of Education National University Modern Online Education Cohort Group. The Contest aims to enforce the “ability and career development-oriented” talent-training requirement by the Ministry of Education and promote university-industry cooperation and synergetic innovation. Ever since its establishment, the Contest has attracted more than 3,500 participating universities, and over 120,000 competing teachers and students; its authoritativeness, professionalism and fairness has gained recognitions from the social communities.
