M.U.S.T. publishes Intermediate Business Portuguese to promote the China-Portugal talents training
The ‘Chinese-Portuguese Platform’ researchers from the School of Business of M.U.S.T. and a Portuguese university jointly wrote and edited Intermediate Business Portuguese, which was supported by the Macao Higher Education Bureau and published by the Economic Science Press in August 2019. This textbook aims to promote the establishment of the Macao S.A.R. as a service platform for Sino-Portuguese business cooperation, to respond to the Macao S.A.R. Government’s construction of the China-Portugal Platform and the Training Base of Promoting Macao’s Portuguese Language Talent in the Asia-Pacific Region, and in cooperation with the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative to boost Sino-Portuguese language teaching and research.
Intermediate Business Portuguese, is the second texbook of the series the Basic Business Portuguese. The textbook fulfills the needs for professional Portuguese language to be used in Sino-Portuguese economic and trade exchanges, to establish Macao as a training base for bilingual talents in Chinese and Portuguese who possess certain international business expertise. Each chapter of the textbook contains not only knowledge of business but also the specific explanation of learning difficulties, complements of business knowledge, business vocabulary, business cases; introducing the economic development, business practices, market development, and Sino-Portuguese economic and trade cooperation of Portugal and Brazil. The textbook enables the Portuguese language learners to connect theory with practice, to absorb knowledge in both Portuguese and business, and to get in-depth understanding of business in Portuguese-speaking countries.
It is a supplementary textbook for professional Portuguese textbooks, by targeting the readers who are senior students of Portuguese majors in the university, and practitioners who possess basic reading and writing skills in Portuguese and look forward to enhance the professional knowledge of international business and expression of Portuguese. This textbook usefully improves Portuguese learners’ business application ability and facilitates the cultivation of bilingual talents for the construction of the ‘China-Portugal Platform’.
