Vice President Kwong Ying Wa delivered a speech at the Opening Ceremony. He emphasized that the University has attached great importance and given great support to entrepreneurship and career development for students, by making efforts to expand employment channels and career choices for the graduating students, establishing friendly ties with major companies and firms, and publicizing and releasing hiring information of major companies on a regular basis. These endeavors are made for the purposes of helping graduating students to develop better understanding of the career market so as to enhance their competitiveness and improve career potentials, which has been a key field of work for M.U.S.T.’s accomplishment of its mission to cultivate talents. Next year, the University will have approximately 2,300 undergraduates plus 1,600 graduates to be graduating and joining the workforce of the society to make their contributions. Given that the on-going pandemic has had a significant impact on the world economy, which has led to substantial losses in major industries and a growing unemployment rate, finding a job or internship opportunity would not be easy for the graduating students next year. Vice President Kwong encouraged the students to seize every opportunity, improve their professional skills, face up to all incoming challenges, and make good preparations for their future careers.
