M.U.S.T. Executive Committee Meeting Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government

On November 19, the Secretary-General and Vice President Tong Ka Lok, Vice President and Dean of School of Graduate Studies Pang Chuan, Vice President and Director of the Principal’s Office Kwong Ying Wa, and Executive Director of School of Graduate Studies Feng Junguo visited Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government on behalf of the executive committee of Macau University of Science and Technology. Li Chong, vice mayor of Zhuhai, and the relevant government departments extended a warm welcome to the M.U.S.T. delegation.

At the symposium, the two parties conducted in-depth and constructive exchanges on further strengthening cooperation between M.U.S.T. and Zhuhai.

Dr Tong Ka Lok, Vice President, first expressed his gratitude to Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government for the strong support given to M.U.S.T. in various fields. Vice President Tong proceeded to introduce the current progress of the industry-university-research projects in cooperation with Zhuhai and the satisfactory results.

Prof. Pang Chuan, Vice President, introduced the status quo of the higher education in Macao, and the estimated opportunities and challenges. Besides, he briefed on the University’s ever-lasting development and its achievements over the past two decades.

Li Chong, Vice Mayor of Zhuhai City, recalled his previous working experience in Macao over ten years ago. M.U.S.T. impressed him with remarkable achievements over the last 20 years. Furthermore, he expressed his support for the cooperation with M.U.S.T. in the fields of education, sciences, and research. He hopes to extend the in-depth collaboration to other cities of Guangdong Province, to enhance technological innovation capabilities and to accelerate the construction of “Macau-Zhuhai Pole” accelerated by the promising Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
