The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) held the second academic seminar on November 17, 2021, entitled "Research practice of mixed-method in tourism and hospitality field". Professor Li Shina from the School of Tourism Management, Sun Yat-Sen University was invited to share her views on the topic. The seminar was attended by FHTM Program Director Zhang Yang and about 180 postgraduate students via Zoom.
Professor Li Shina
Professor Li Shina is an associate editor of top international academic journals on tourism and hospitality management. In this lecture, Professor Li Shina introduced the use of mixed-method in articles. She emphasized that research methods should serve the research objectives and encouraged students to do research and focus on social issues. She said that doing research requires more reading, more listening and more thinking, and learning by doing. After the presentation, a Q&A session with students took place. Attending FHTM teachers and students expressed that they benefited a lot from Professor Li Shina seminar.
