The seminar took place at MGM COTAI, which was attended by a line-up of guests of honors, including Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of the FHTM, Associate Professor Zhang Yang, Program Director of FHTM, Professor Timothy Lee, Assistant Professor Liu Jing, Francis Tan, Vice President of Learning and Talent Management of MGM, and Benjamin Hong, Director of Learning and Talent Development of MGM, together with M.U.S.T. students and MGM management team members.

Professor Ben K. Goh said, “FHTM and MGM have been working closely on cultivating talents. This seminar manifested the mutual support between school and enterprise and acted as a great demonstration of industry-education integration. Through this event, we anticipate widening MGM team members’ perception of the mainland market and supporting the sustainable development of the local integrated resort industry.”

Mr. Francis Tan said in the opening remarks, “It is a great honor for MGM to have invited M.U.S.T. to jointly hold this seminar. Mainland China has been Macao's leading tourism source market and we believe this seminar could enlighten our team members by knowing more about our guests and taking MGM Service Excellence to the next level. We look forward to expanding collaborations between MGM and M.U.S.T. and cultivating more young talents for the industry.”

Shi Ting Li, a first-year graduate student from FHTM, attended the seminar and shared that “As a generation Y myself, I gained a greater understanding of the Next Gen consumers in this seminar. It has inspired my thoughts on what they need and where we should target advertisements. In addition, it gave me insights about my current research area and future career.”

Jun Bin Li, another first-year graduate student, attended the seminar and shared that “It is an honor to participate in this seminar. Overall, I am deeply impressed by Dr. Shuo Wang’s definitions of generational differences in consumption patterns. In the information technology era, short video traffic can convert into profitability and attract a high volume of tourists. I believe MGM could use this approach to boost popularity and become the customer’s targeted destination in the forthcoming National Day holidays.”

Mr. Mike Lei, Assistant Vice President of Casino Slot Operation of MGM, stated that this seminar deepened his understanding of the consumption behavior of the new generation of mainland tourists. From the seminar, he could more accurately formulate personalized services and products, help to continuously optimize the quality of services, and further effectively expand the new generation of customers.
