The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of the Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) sent eight master students majoring in hotel management to participate in the Internship Project for the Hangzhou Asian Games. To further strengthen the interaction and exchange between Macao SAR and mainland China, under the leadership and guidance of Dean Ben K. Goh, Program Director Jose Wong, and Professor Zhao Jinlin, FHTM held a presentation for the Hangzhou Asian Games Internship Project, to which many students attended. After the interview, eight master students majoring in hotel management, namely Wan Peiqi, Zhou Zhenzhe, Deng Haiyue, Lu Qianwen, Shen Miaomiao, Tang Zhiyan, Xiao Ao, and Yang Luming were selected. Aramark Service Industries (China) Co., Ltd. undertakes the catering work for the Hangzhou Asian Games. The eight students serve as interns of Aramark and participate in the catering service-related work of the Hangzhou Asian Games. The Hangzhou Asian Games Internship Project will be carried out from June 1st to October 8th, 2023.
Hangzhou is the third city in China to host the Asian Games after Beijing (the 11th Asian Games in 1990) and Guangzhou (the 16th Asian Games in 2010). As a leading international professional service company, Aramark has undertaken catering service work for many international large-scale events. This internship exchange has made our university the first non-mainland Chinese university to participate in large-scale domestic sports events in China, opening the door for Macao universities to participate in future significant sports events, promoting communication and exchange between the region and the mainland, and showcasing the quality of local university students.
