The guest lecturer for this session was Nobel laureate, Prof. Jean-Marie LEHN and the topic of his lecture was “From Matter to Life: Chemistry? Chemistry!”. Prof. Jean-Marie LEHN first made an introduction to the evolution of the universe since the “Big Bang”, and then gave a systematic account of the history and evolution of chemistry, depicting how, from material to life, the organization of molecules became more and more complex. Prof. LEHN’s lecture was informative and intriguing, bringing inspirations and a broader horizon to the students and other scientists with regard to the goals they aim to pursue in the future.

Prof. Lam Wai Kei, Vice Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences hosted the session and Chair Prof. Liu Liang, President of Macau University of Science and Technology conferred the Appointment Letter of Outstanding Visiting Chair Professor to Prof. Jean-Marie LEHN at the session.
