MUST Graduate Won the First Class Paper Award at the Second Postgraduate Academic Forum

Earlier this month, Prof. Li Jian Qing of Faculty of Information Technology and Wu Jing Song, Chairman of the Graduate Student Union and graduate student of Master of Charity and Philanthropy Management, MUST School of Business, were invited to attend the Second Postgraduate Academic Forum, “LIYAN Forum 2014: Big Data Era and Urban Management”.

The forum received a total of 179 papers; after anonymous assessment by 15 professors, 26 papers were selected for presentation. Wu Jing Song, Chairman of the MUST Graduate Student Union, as the only representative of the Macau region, presented his paper at the forum. His paper “The Story of the Bai Village: Illegal Lottery in Rural Area and Reflections on Community Work” adopted qualitative research methodologies, obtained first-hand data materials by mean of field study, after assessment by the judging panel, the paper was awarded the first prize. Prof. Li Jian Qing of Faculty of Information and Technology was also invited to give a keynote speech at the forum on “Singo Technology and its Applications”.

The “LIYAN Forum 2014: Big Data Era and Urban Management” was hosted by the Postgraduate Student Union of Shenzhen University, and was also an academic forum that opens to graduate students from Cross-Straits and four Regions; this year, graduate representatives from more than thirty universities in the Cross-Straits and four Regions attended the forum. The forum consists of several sub-forums, including Optoelectronics & Life Sciences, Architecture and Material Sciences, Humanity and Social Science. It aims to nurture an intensive academic atmosphere in the campus so as to enhance academic exchanges among graduate students, provide a good platform for graduate students to demonstrate their academic achievements, and elevate the quality of graduate education to a higher level.
