M.U.S.T. Art Troupe Choir Cheer for Wuhan by Air-Singing

In the wake of the raging development of the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (NCP), in order to pay tribute to the NCP-fighting frontline forces flocking to Wuhan from across the nation, members of the M.U.S.T. Art Troupe Choir, who are living currently in various places across the motherland, video-taped a cross-time cross-space cloud chorus using their cellphones at the same time in their respective homes, to give support to and cheer for the frontline heroes through songs.

The short video jointly recorded by the choir members was named “STAY WITH YOU”, which has specially inserted NCP fighting clips in the hope of enabling all viewers watching the video via their mobile phones to appreciate the joint heroic deeds by the NCP fighting heroes, and by doing so generates tremendous positive energy.

The choir members also shared their feelings on being able to contribute to the video. Choir member Liu Yunying from Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management has noticed over the past days an outpour of heart-warming songs and videos on the Internet cheering for Wuhan, which inspired her to think that as a student she can also find her own way to send her wishes and blessings. She then put forth the idea to the choir members and they had a discussion via their WeChat group. The choir soon reached a consensus to record a short video embedded with anti-NCP clips, which was backed up by the entire members of the choir. It was the choir’s wish that they could rely on their songs and voices to send warmth and positive energy to the frontline workers fighting the virus and cheer for Wuhan and the motherland.

Choir member Luo Yayu from School of Business said that the NCP is a smokeless war, as well as a big test. Due to the spread of the virus, people can only support the anti-virus forces by staying at home. The choir members wish to use their songs and voices to spread love, and hope that we’ll soon break the virus and see the light of victory.

Choir member Chen Qiyu from School of Business confessed that for college students of her generation, who are nineteen or twenty years old, they have vague impression of the SARS in 2003, which for them was just an empty noun. However, the NCP outbreak came to their sight and life in such a forceful way, which made them really want to use their own means to show their appreciation and respect to the frontline medical staff.

Choir member Jiao Chenglin from Faculty of Law lamented, “Without the NCP, people like you who are fighting on the frontline day and night could have been reunited with your families celebrating the new spring, while people like me who don’t know you would have been on our way back to school. However, the sudden NCP outbreak interrupted our normal plans.” He felt tremendously grateful to the anti-NCP heroes, who sacrifice their own family time, health and even life to defend the health, peace and happiness of the entire nation. He said that through the mountains and rivers between him and the frontline heroes, his hearts are with them wherever they are.
