To celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Macau University of Science and Technology, the alumni federation invited the alumni who once served football team to their Alma Mater for joining the celebrations and playing a friendly football match with the current football team players.
The match was held at 2 pm on March 14, 2015 at TIS football field, which attracted broad attention from both teaching staffs and students. The competition was divided into four sections, each section last 25 minutes. In the first quarter, players of both sides displayed energetically with active offenses and defenses. The more experienced “Alumni Federation” football team dominated the match for a time, but MUST Football Team was not to be outdone, Zhang Dalong wearing No.17 shirt seized a counterattack opportunity and opened the scoring with a long shot. However, it was not long before “Alumni Federation” No.30 football player Huang Chang lobbed an equalizer, yet before the end of the first quarter, MUST football player Zhou Junjie completed a hat – trick and 2-1 won in the first section. In the second quarter, it was the “Alumni Federation” Football Team who set the pace at the beginning and equalized by No.21 player Yang Fang with a spot kick at a corner, then No. 9 player He Baiyi scored against MUST Team with a wonderful long shot, and the “Alumni Federation” Football Team took a lead with 3-2 in this section. In the third quarter, both sides seemed anxious and the fighting became fiercer, there were even players suffered cramps, but the gap between the two wasn’t filled. In the final round, MUST Football Team with slightly better physical power advantage dominated the match, and the player Yi Like equalized by finding the cutting edge to break rivals down. Eventually, the match ended with a 3-3 draw.
After the match, Jiang Xiaoling, secretary the presidium of MUST Alumni Federation took pictures together with the players. She said that the friendly football match is part of celebrations of MUST 15th anniversary, which built up a good platform of communication between students and alumni, helped refresh those great moments of the passion of youth in the place where they ever strived and witnessed the Alma Mater’s vitality and growth. “Alumni Federation” football players also expressed that they enjoyed very much in the game, confirmed the quality of MUST football team and wished another chance to participate in such activities in the future. Meanwhile, the captain of MUST football Team Li Feiyang said that this game gave them the opportunity to exercise, from which they saw the deficiencies of the whole team and hoped that they could overcome these deficiencies so as to improve themselves in all respects.
