The National Semi-Finals of the 2021 China Universities Debating Championship (CUDC), directed by the MTI Education Committee of the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the CATTI Project Management Center of the China Foreign Language Bureau, held on September 11. A total of 112 teams from Eastern China, Southern China, Western China and Northern China regions with winning finalists, including Fudan University, Tongji University, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, University of Macau, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), East China University of Political Science and Law, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Sun Yat-sen University, etc.
He Bingxuan and Chen Qingyi represented our university to participate in this competition and successfully advanced to the national semi-finals after winning the first prize in the South China Regional Finals. After two days of round-robin competition in the national finals, they successfully proceeded the national one-eighth final (top 32), quarter final (top 16) and semi-final (top 8), our English Debating Team finally won the ticket to the national grand final (top 4). The institutions that entered the national grand final also include BeiHang University, Beijing Foreign Studies University and Zhejiang Foreign Studies University (the above rankings are in no particular order).
The grand final competing for champion will be held offline in Beijing. We hope our English Debating Team will create another success!
