The President of the University of Tunis El Manar Professor Moez Chafra led a delegation to visit the Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) on April 26. The delegation was warmly received by Chair Professor Joseph Hun-wei Lee, Vice-Chancellor and President of M.U.S.T.; Professor Aliana Man Wai Leong, Associate Vice-President; Professor Ma Yibing, Director of the National Observation and Research Station of Coastal Ecological Environments in Macao and Head of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Faculty of Innovation Engineering (FIE); Chair Professor Zhang Du, Director of the School of Computer Science and Engineering of FIE; Chair Professor Wu Naiqi, Head of the Department of Engineering Science of FIE; Professor Fung Man Keung, Department of Materials Science and Engineering of FIE; Distinguished Guest Professor Wang Zhaoyin, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering of FIE; Ms. Amy Oi Mei Chu, Head of the Academic Affairs Office; and Associate Professor Xu Yi of Institute of Space Science.

During the meeting, President Joseph Hun-wei Lee expressed warm welcome to President Moez Chafra and provided a brief overview of M.U.S.T.’s development and student standpoint. President Lee expressed gratitude for President Chafra’s warm reception during last year’s visit to the University of Tunis El Manar and stated that he has been looking forward to this return visit. Both sides believe that there are many opportunities for collaboration in deepening international exchanges and engaged in enthusiastic discussions about future cooperation. President Chafra visited the University’s historical and achievements exhibition hall, the special collection of ancient maps known as ‘Lantai Jiyin,’ the State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences, the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, the National Observation and Research Station of Coastal Ecological Environments in Macao, the Open Intelligent Electric Vehicle Research Center, and the M.U.S.T. Liu’s Innovation and Technology Center. He praised the University’s rapid development in recent years and expressed a deep impression of its achievements. President Charfa expressed hopes of opening channels for recruiting international students and exploring cooperation opportunities. M.U.S.T. welcomes Tunisian students to the University for further study and exchange.
