Tasuku Honjo, Doctor of Science honoris causa


Professor Tasuku Honjo, a Japanese immunologist, a foreign academician of the National Academy of Sciences, and a member of the Japan Academy. Professor Tasuku Honjo won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with James P. Allison in 2018. He is currently a special professor at the Kyoto University Institute for Advanced Studies. Professor Tasuku Honjo is world-renowned for his research on PD-1 (Programmed cell death protein 1) and Activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID). He has received several awards, including the Tang Prize in Biopharmaceutical Science and Warren Alpert Foundation Prize.
