As an indigenous Macanese, Mr. Lam Kam Seng is deeply attached to the land where he was born. As a CPPCC member, he has taken the duties upon himself of understanding the public sentiments, concerning himself with people’s livelihood, and constructing a harmonious Macao. He has brought his advantages and influence into full play, thereby contributing greatly to the stability and harmony of Macao, through a series of effective measures. As Vice-president of the Macao Chamber of Commerce, Vice-chairman of the Macao Association of Building Contractors and Developers, and Vice-president of the Macao Importers and Exporters Association, he has been keeping up to date with the developments of industry and commerce in Macao. And he is always ready to serve and to assist small and medium enterprises, which, in turn, wins him respect and support from the local business community.

Moreover, he is always enthusiastic about promoting the development of culture and education in Macao. In his capacity as Standing Director of the China Overseas Friendship Association and Vice Chairman of the University Council of M.U.S.T., he has actively participated in several and diverse social and cultural activities, and has made prominent contributions to the advancement of society, culture and higher education in Macao. In recognition of his remarkable achievements, in 2002 the Government of Macao SAR awarded him the first Order of Merit in Industry and Commerce, and in 2010 conferred on him the Honorable Medal of the Silver Lotus Flower.

His name is Lam Kam Seng. Now we are much honored to present to you Mr. Lam. He hereby is not only the Vice-chairman of University Council, but also a honorary doctor of Macao University of Science and Technology.
