On June 1st, 2018, a group of 15 FHTM students, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Pai, Chen-Kuo set off to the USA to start the six-month-long 2018 Disney Internship Program at Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee, Florida. The Internship Program at the FSU Center for Global Engagement (CGE) has been one of the characteristics of FHTM curriculum for eleven years and has been extremely popular among FHTM students. The students started with an intensive ten-day study program at the CGE, taking courses including “Management of Human Service Organization”, “Intercultural Communication” and “Corporate Social Responsibility”. Upon completion of the study program, students would be assigned to their designated departments at the Walt Disney World Orlando to conduct an internship program for a period of 6 months.
This collaboration internship program aims to offer a valuable cross-culture internship opportunity to students, so that they can not only improve their second language--English and their understanding of the culture of a multinational company, but also get a closer look at and hands-on experience from the operation of the service industry. This opportunity is believed to benefit students greatly by broadening their horizon and enriching their experience.
