The 5th "Hotelier Experience Sharing" symposium hosted by the Student Union of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) was held at the University of Science and Technology, Lecture Hall, O702, at 11/08/2011. The main purpose of this symposium was to invite alumni who are presently working in the hospitality industry, returning to school and sharing their experiences with the students in the FHTM, actual operation of the hotel industry. The event invited five alumni in Macau's leading luxury hotel services. They are: Samantha Huang (Mandarin Oriental Macau), Zoey Hong (JW Marriott Hotel & the Ritz-Carlton Macau), Buddy Chen (Foshan Nanzhilv International Travel Service Company), Martina Wang (Legend Palace Hotel Macau), and Lorenzo Han (JW Marriott Hotel Macau). They were sharing the practical experience of working. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of the hotel industry work and also provide their advice to current students. Finally, the guests answered all kinds of questions from the students. The questions and answers were included: hotel internship, resume preparation, job search skills, interview response, hotel work environment culture, and future career development issues. The entire event lasted for two hours.
