FHTM students Zhang Jingyi and Xie Yuqing participated in the "Learning at Sea Educational Cruise - Thematic Learning Program" during March 22 to 24, 2019. The program was organized by Partner Education Foundation Limited and coordinated by the Higher Education Bureau of Macau. The learning program had moved beyond the traditional classroom design and relocated to the cruise ship “World Dream” operated by Dream Cruise, which provided students a new platform for studying. In World Dream, the finest of world can be explored on one ship, with an exciting array of Asian and international dining, iconic global brand experiences and diverse entertainment options – all whilst visiting some of Asia’s most inspiring destinations.
More than 30 college and university students from the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao greater bay area were invited to participate in the event. The theme of the study was mainly on cruise operations, including "sea travel", "cruise visiting", "reception service on board", "management dialogue", "employee management", etc. Professor Cindia Lam Ching Chi from the Institute of Tourism Studies (Macau) also delivered lectures on the development of tourism industry and artificial intelligence. The learning program has cultivated students' interest in cruise tourism and helped them better understand the operation of cruise tourism.
