Guest Lecture by Mr. Gregg Rockett from PolyU at FHTM

On May 8th, 2019, professor of practice Mr. Gregg Rockett from Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) was invited to deliver a lecture for the FHTM students at MUST. The topic was “Exporting Corporate Culture and Corporate Growth Strategies”. Mr. Gregg Rockett has rich industrial experience in international hospitality and tourism markets and real estate. In this lecture, Mr. Gregg Rockett shared a global perspective on the hospitality and tourism industries by using the case of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. Also, he compared and contrasted the marketing targeting and positioning strategies between four largest hotel chains including Starwood, Marriott, Hilton and InterContinental Hotels Group, which opened students’ eyes to the real-world application of marketing strategies of different hotel brands.

His passion and humour impressed students. During the lecture, the speaker and students had great interactions. Thanks to the lecture, students enriched their knowledge and deepened their understanding of international hospitality. The messages delivered to the students will benefit their future career development and self-improvement.
