Ms. Amy Chu, Vice Dean of Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM), Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), led a delegation to visit three educational institutions in Japan including Osaka Seikei University, Josai International University, and Le Cordon Bleu Tokyo from July 9th to 11th, 2019. The delegation included Ms. Flora Kok, head of Personnel Office, and FHTM Program Directors Zhang Yang and Brenda Yang.
This visit intended to conduct management exchanges on teaching and research between MUST and the three educational institutions and in-depth discussion about collaboration possibilities in specific areas of teaching and research. The MUST delegation first introduced the development of MUST and organization of faculties and departments, sharing experience in educational management, curriculum design and professional skills development, etc. Then the two parties talked about cooperation intentions in the fields of tourism management, food and beverage management, catering and culinary arts, and so on. The two parties exchanged ideas on research collaboration and teacher and student exchanges with regard to the realities of tertiary education, professional education and tourism development in both Macao and Japan. The delegation also visited such teaching facilities as the teaching building, library and professional skills training room of the three respective institutions. MUST has finally reached a preliminary consensus with the three institutions on the exchange of visits between teachers and students, and cooperation in scientific research and teaching practice. This visit has enhanced the international reputation of MUST, improved the mutual understanding and connection between MUST and educational institutions in Japan and laid a solid foundation for building a platform for future long-term cooperation in teaching practice and scientific research.
