The first Hult Prize Macau University of Science and Technology Campus Challenge Competition was held on December 12, 2020. A total of 21 teams (more than 70 students) participated in this competition. FHTM culinary year 3 student Lu Tailin who represented Team SPROUT won first prize in the competition and will represent the university to attend the Hult Prize Regional Summit.

The Hult Prize is the world's leading entrepreneurial innovation platform for higher education institutions. In the past ten years, more than 50 million US dollars have been injected into the field of social innovation, allowing more than 1 million young people to rethink the future of business. The theme of competition in this year is "Food for good (Transforming Food into a Vehicle for Change)", which aims to encourage students from all over the world to find socially beneficial and profitable business models and put forward their own insights and practical business solutions.
Team SPROUT, the champion of this competition, used a patent-based integrated sprout production container system to plan to provide a large amount of sprout vegetable production capacity in poverty-stricken areas around the world. This project can provide a large amount of food and employment for poor areas in the world and promote local economic development. It will be an extremely effective solution to the world's poverty and hunger problems.
