A lecture entitled“FROM THE GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF Civil Law TO THE GENERAL PROVISIONS OF Civil Law”was held in classroom C308 on October 26, 2016. The lecture was given by Professor Wen Shiyang, PhD.D supervisor in Law school of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, MUST. Professor Wen serves as the vice-chairman of both Chinese Civil Law Research Institute and China Insurance Law Research Institute. Associate Professor Yi Zaicheng, director of the Master Degree Programs from the Faculty of Law, presented Professor Wen with a souvenir for appreciation before the lecture started.
The lecture that included two parts: an introduction to the historical status of General Principles of Civil Law and an in-depth analysis of the legislation process of the General Provisions of Civil Law. Professor Wen explained enthusiastically the adjustment object, the concept of Private Law and framework of general principles of the Civil Law. He also stated his views on the basic principle of Civil Law , subject of right, civil right object, civil rights, civil legal act ,and civil liability.
The lecture captured a large number of students, including undergraduate, Master degree candidates and PhD candidates, who were impressed by his logical regor and explicit expression. During the Q&A session, Professor Wen patiently answered the most-concerned questions from students and they found the lecture very inspiring.
