Mr. Zhou Dawei's lecture noted that if we want to understand American community, we must really understand the core part of American Society - the rule of law of the United States and the rule of law development history in the United States. In this lecture, Mr. Zhou Dawei, through the legal culture comparison analysis between China and America, commented on the work "the history of American Law in twentieth Century" of Freedman, an international famous American scholar in contemporary world, pointed out this is a classic work that generally discussed American law evolution history in the twentieth century. Between 1900 and 2000, great and dramatic changes took place in the United States, which occurred in the areas of economic, social, cultural and political life, and reflected in the American legal system. On the basis of Freedman's insight, a legal system is the reflection of it is implanted society. If 21st Century was the Chinese century, it is not only refers to the Chinese mainland, it also includes these regions that beyond Chinese territory but use Chinese or have Chinese culture, it will not be a Confucianism China, but a China with scientific progress, trade development and market opening. Such a China will have no choice to learn from the United States experience, at least there is no suspense on a key point - it must be a rule of law society.

Mr. Zhou Dawei's profound knowledge, wise opinion, vivid language, made the whole lecture unusually brilliant, atmosphere lively, and much appreciated by everyone. Assistant Professor Lin Wei-Chung from faculty of law presided over the lecture, the students of FL and other faculties and some teachers listened to the speech with great interest, and had a heated discussion and exchange on the topic of the lecture in the interactive session.
