From November 13 to 19, 2020, the 2020 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Exchange Expo was held in Guangzhou, China, and took place both online and offline. The Faculty of Law of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) set up an online gallery and participated in the exhibition as one of the university exhibitors. Law Faculty’s exhibition showcased the Faculty’s introduction, its Macao Intellectual Property Research Center, and the achievements of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Law Alliance initiated and led by the Faculty of Law.
The design work of the graduate students from the Law Faculty, “‘Yuequan Tong’-Blockchain-Backed Copyright Protection Platform of Zhuhai-Macao”, joined the exhibition. Associate Professor Yi Zaicheng from the Law Faculty participated in the design guidance of the work, and he would also speak at the corresponding forum of the Expo, “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Protection Forum”, on the theme of “Intellectual Property Protection in Macao from the Perspective of International Law”. The Faculty of Law also hopes to enhance exchanges with other universities and practice organizations and promote cooperation in the field of intellectual property rights while participating in the exhibition.

The Expo was jointly organized by the Guangdong Provincial Administration of Market Supervision (IPR Bureau), the Guangzhou Municipal Government, the Intellectual Property Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Economic Services Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, with the general theme of “Strengthening IPR Protection and Assisting High-Quality Development”. Several corresponding forums were held simultaneously, including but not limited to Intellectual Property Operation and High Quality Development Forum, Intellectual Property Financial Innovation Forum, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Diversified Protection Forum, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Intellectual Property Cooperation Forum. The Expo attracted authoritative experts and scholars from domestic and foreign universities and research institutes in the field of intellectual property as well as representatives of famous high-tech enterprises worldwide.
