On April 12, 2021, the organizing committee of the 2021 International Criminal Court Competition (ICC) in the English language announced the results of the competition, and the Faculty of Law team, that participated the competition for the first time, won the first prize.
The ICC Moot Court Competition is an annual moot court competition conducted under the substantial and procedural rules of the International Criminal Court, which has far-reaching implications in the field of international law. The domestic session of this year's competition was hosted China University of Political Science and Law, aiming to cultivate the international perspective of law students, spread the concept of international criminal law, strengthen the cultivation of foreign-related rule of law talents, and improve the legal English standard and international law professional ability of Chinese law students. The competition attracted nearly 50 law school teams from Peking University, Tsinghua University, China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing Normal University, University of International Business and Economics, and China University of Social Sciences.
The Faculty of Law MUST Team consisted of four students, Guo Yuxin, student of the Master of Financial Crime and Regulation program of 2021, Chen Shutong, undergraduate student of 2017, and Shi Ruqi and Wu Ziqi, undergraduate students of 2018. Assistant Professor Chen Bo and Assistant Professor Wang Jia of the Faculty of Law served as coaches.
The Faculty of School team participated in the ICC Chinese competition for the first time in 2020 and won the first prize and all the individual prizes. Winning the first prize in the English competition this year, all the participating students worked together through independent study, legal research, and regular coaching, and finally completed three English pleadings of nearly 10,000 words.
