The 4th Dialogue with Practitioners of Legal Profession: the Event of Growth Skills of Practitioners of Legal Profession was successfully held at the University’s N101 Lecture Hall at 10 a.m, March 30, 2022. The event was hosted by Faculty of Law and organized by its Alumni Association, sponsored by the MUST Foundation, which was also strongly supported by the MUST Alumni Association. Four outstanding alumni were invited to attend the event and reunite on line or off line, sharing their skills to be a practitioner of legal profession with the younger students. Dean of the Facuty of Law Fang Quan, Vice President of the MUST Alumni Association Tang Xi, President of Alumni Association of Faculty of Law Lau Chak Kwong, Secrectary- General Lam Wai Kuen, members of Supervision Committee Ms. Leung On Ling, Ms.Lee Wai Yat and Ms. Lam Kwoo Lok, Vice President of Macau Anti-Money Laundering Specialists Association Lam Wing Tim and over 150 students of the Faculty attended the event.

President of Alumni Association of Faculty of Law, Mr. Lau Chak Kwong made a speech
At the beginning, President Lau Chak Kwong expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the guests present and alumni on line. He said that the time of studying in the Faculty of Law, M.U.S.T was a precious experience for him. He expressed his thanks to the university for nurturing so many excellent practitioners of legal profession. The Alumni Association of Faculty of Law would do its utmost to promote the cooperation and exchange among alumni and further fulfill the function of the Alumni Association. It would carry forward the spirit of the Faculty, gathering the strength of alumni to contribute back to the university and the faculty, serve for our society.
During the event, Professor Hu Hai Tao, a Doctoral alumnus of 2013 Class and Vice Dean of the School of Law, Hebei University of Economics and Business, said that the demand structure of legal talents has been changed with the development of the society, posing new challenges and new requirement for legal education and legal talents. He urged all classmates to master the basic skills of being a practitioner of legal profession when studying in the university and strive to be an versatile talent of rule by law in the new age. Lawyer He Shu Kui, a Doctoral alumnus of 2015 Class and the co-founder of Beijing Jingshi Law Firm Shenzhen Office, shared his journey of being the co-founder of the law firm by reviewing his experience of working while studying for the doctoral degree at the same time. He advised that all younger classmates should carry on the target management, live for the moment and seize the momentum. Lawyer Yang Yang, an undergraduate alumnus of 2013 Class and the Director of Zhejiang Xizi Mingzhu Law firm, suggested all the classmates cherish the college life of studying in Macao and take the precious opportunities to learn from the top teachers, work hard and strive to become an outstanding practitioner of legal profession. Mr Di Bo Lun, an undergraduate alumnus of 2015 class and doctoral candidate of University of Munich, talked about his viewpoints on the differences between studying legal courses in German and countries of Common Law System and how to establish personal goal in studying. He suggested all the younger students make career plans and reminded them that only by defining a clear direction can do more with less.

Lawyer Chang San Chi, the Director of Alumni Association of the Faculty of Law and senior partner of Macao Lektou Law Firm, presided the sharing and interaction session. During the interaction session, the on-site students enthusiastically discussed with the alumni. At the end of the event, the four guests gave their advice to the classmates, they encouraged all classmates to adhere to the ideal of being practitioner of legal profession and do their best. The Event of Growth Skills of Practitioners of Legal Profession, as one of the event series of launched by Faculty of Law, has created opportunities for students to communicate and exchange with excellent alumni. It is hoped that students will learn from the experiences of alumni and lay a solid foundation for their studying and career orientation in the future.
