The Faculty of Law Hosts Two Undergraduate Orientation Lectures in September

The Faculty of Law held two undergraduate orientation lectures in September, providing guidance and advice on course selection, independent learning, and research for incoming undergraduate students entering university.

The first lecture, titled "Guidance for Law Undergraduate Course Selection," was successfully conducted on September 14th in Room N316 of the university. The lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Xie Gengliang, the Program Director for undergraduate courses. During the lecture, Professor Xie provided a detailed interpretation of the 2023/2024 academic year's Bachelor of Law study plan, including course choices and arrangements, development of practical skills, enhancement of language abilities, post-graduation employment prospects, and a comprehensive introduction to the university's abundant learning resources and student activities. Lastly, Professor Xie encouraged students to actively participate in academic events and student competitions both within and outside the campus, aiming to broaden their professional horizons and improve their overall competence.

The second lecture, focusing on "Autonomous and Research-Based Learning in Law," took place on September 21st in Room N316 of the university. The lecture was hosted by Assistant Professor Xie Gengliang, the Program Director, and delivered by Assistant Professor Zhou Qin. During the lecture, Assistant Professor Zhou shared a series of learning strategies and methods with the students, including cultivating reading skills, independent thinking, academic writing paradigms, and key points, aiming to develop students' ability for autonomous learning and research-oriented thinking. Lastly, Assistant Professor Zhou Qin encouraged the new students to actively participate in academic activities and research projects to enhance their academic abilities and research competence.

The orientation series of activities organized by the Law School is designed specifically for new students, aiming to help them integrate into the learning and living environment at the M.U.S.T. more quickly. These activities enhance their understanding of legal education, while also providing insights into the teaching culture and academic foundation of the Faculty of Law at the M.U.S.T.
