On the afternoon of October 18th, the Faculty of Law organized the "Opening the Door to Juris Doctor" special event for doctoral students. The purpose of this event was to assist the freshmen of the Class of 2023 in quickly adapting to the learning and research life at the doctoral level, and to establish their research direction and topics as early as possible.

The seminar was hosted by Bi Jingwei, the program director. Assistant Professors Peng Yunpeng and Zhou Qin, as well as doctoral student Lai Yuan from the Class of 2021, were invited as guest speakers to share their experiences. Program director Bi Jingwei emphasized the importance of the doctoral stage in an academic career and encouraged the freshmen to actively engage in research and academic exploration. He also expressed his willingness to assist the newcomers in successfully navigating the challenges of their doctoral journey
Assistant Professor Peng Yunpeng delved into the field of legal research during the doctoral stage, drawing from his own research area and experiences. He stressed the importance of having a clear research direction and research goals, urging the freshmen to establish their direction and goals as soon as possible in order to embark on their research journey.
Assistant Professor Zhou Qin highlighted the significance of innovation and the spirit of adventure in the research process. He encouraged the students to be daring in their endeavors, emphasizing that they should not only learn from existing research areas and experiences but also explore new research directions and methods.
Lastly, doctoral student Lai Yuan from the Class of 2021 also shared their own insights and experiences with the freshmen. They provided advice on topics such as time management and collaboration between supervisors and students in research and teaching. Lai Yuan actively engaged in interactive exchanges with their junior peers, allowing for a fruitful discussion.

The seminar offered practical guidance and advice, assisting the new students in better integrating into the Faculty of Law at M.U.S.T. and achieving greater breakthroughs and achievements in academic research.
