The first "Freshmen Cup" basketball invitational, organized by the Faculty of Law at Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.), was held at noon on November 9th in the university's J Hall Sports Center. Fang Quan, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Wong Ka Weng, the Director of the Student Affairs Office, were present at the event to watch the games and present awards to the winning teams. The purpose of this event was to help freshmen adapt to university life quickly through sports competitions, experience the youthful vigor and enterprising spirit of M.U.S.T., and enrich the extracurricular cultural life of the Faculty of Law's faculty and students while promoting physical fitness. The event received strong support from the Student Affairs Office, the Student Union of the Faculty of Law, and the Basketball Club of M.U.S.T.

The opposing teams in the competition were both comprised of freshmen from the Class of 2023. The team in white jerseys consisted of Yuan Bowen, Wang Weihao, Cheng Shaoxuan, Shi Haobo, Huang Shengfeng, Chen Xiaoda, Sun Yuchen, Shang Chenqi, Yang Chenglong, and Cen Xuanxi from Class 1 of the Faculty of Law.
The team in black jerseys consisted of Yang Qingchen, Hu Jinyuan, Lin Jiakun, Liu Kun, Zhang Cheng, Xiao Xingyu, Lai Yipeng, and Yang Jinghao from Class 2 of the Faculty of Law. As the whistle blew, both teams quickly entered the game mode, and each player performed remarkably. Teachers Yi Zaicheng, Peng Yunpeng, and Zhou Qin joined the teams, presenting an exciting and intense match together with the freshmen. During the game, faculty members and students from the Faculty of Law came to watch and cheer for the participating teachers and students. After fierce competition, the team from Class 1 of the Faculty of Law emerged as the champions, while the team from Class 2 of the Faculty of Law secured the runner-up position.

After the competition, Dean Fang Quan of the Faculty of Law expressed gratitude to the staff of the basketball club by presenting them with commemorative gifts. Both participating faculty members and students highly praised the successful organization of the competition, believing that it not only enhanced their physical fitness but also showcased the enthusiasm, vitality, and spirit of perseverance among the students of M.U.S.T.'s Faculty of Law. The event demonstrated the sportsmanship and provided a platform for communication and interaction among the faculty and students outside the classroom.
Teachers Yi Zaicheng, Peng Yunpeng, Zhou Ting, and Xue Wenchao respectively presented certificates to the students who were awarded the titles of "Three-Point King," "Scoring Champion," "Best Defensive Player," and "Most Valuable Player."
