Macau's sixth Sino-Luso International Medical Forum will inject a new era of technology into the city.
Titled, "The New Era of Surgical Technology," this 2-day forum chaired by the Macau University of Science and Technology: Faculty of Health Sciences and organized by the Macau Healthcare Management and Promotion Association (MHMPA) will take place on the 1st and 2nd April 2012 in Macau SAR, China.
For this, a team of cutting edge surgeon from Portugal, the mainland China and Hong Kong will come to give training for Macau's frontline medical providers.
The Faculty of Health Sciences and the Porto based Foundation of Prof Ernesto Morais will sign a Memorandum of Understanding in collaboration of further projects in the area Research and Medical Education programs. President of foundation, honorable Henrique Morais will come to Macau to sign the important MOU document.
Also, the distinguished surgeon Dr Victor Ribeiro, who serves as the Editor in Chief of Portuguese Journal of Surgery, is a founding member of Transplantation of European board of Surgery, and is the current Director of Surgery - Privado da Boa Nova, Portugal, will highlight the field's latest developments. What is more, Dr Ribeiro is the past president of Santo Antonio Hospital, a highly reputable teaching facility.
Joining these distinguished doctors is the esteemed Prof Tian Li Guo, Editor in Chief of the Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery, and associate professor at Harbin Medical University. Prof Tian will be keynote presenter at the forum.
Also from China, Prof Song Chun, the Vice President of the Liaoning Cancer Hospital, a national renowned surgeon especially in colorectal surgery and Hong Kong's Professor Joseph Lau, President of International HepatoPancreatoBiliary (HBP) Association and Professor and Chief of the Division of HPB Surgery at the Prince of Wales Hospital and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, both of riveting research to discuss.
Furthermore, Dr Jiang Hongchi, President of First Clinical Hospital and Dr Liu Yongfeng, Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, Vice Chairperson of the Scientific Branch of Surgery and Pre-elect Chairperson of China Medical Organ Transplant Association, Chinese Medical Association. These two highly regarded surgeons will come and share their experiences and latest research findings in HepatoPancreatoBiliary surgical procedures.
Moreover, this forum will cover the latest developments in Surgical Technology with a Dinner Symposium keynote lecture event, simulation workshops at the Center of Excellence for Medical Professional Development and a panel discussion at Hospital Conde S. Januario.
