On May 18, 2021, the academic exchange report meeting between the Pearl River Water Resources Commission and the Macao University of Science and Technology was held in N221. 46 graduate students of grade 19 and grade 20 and all teachers of Macao Institute of Environment of Macao University of Science and Technology participated in academic exchanges.
He Zhibo, deputy chief engineer of the Pearl River Water Resources Commission, delivered an academic report entitled "Ensuring water supply security and cooperation opportunities in Macao". President Ma Yibing and director Lin Guangzhi brought academic reports entitled "Introduction and cooperation opportunities of Macao field station" and "Establishment and development of Macao History Research Center of Chinese Academy of History" respectively. Finally, President Li Xingwei made an overall summary of the academic exchange report meeting. Guo Qian, deputy director of the Maritime and Water Affairs Bureau of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and other representatives also attended the academic exchange report meeting.
At the meeting, experts from the Macao Institute of Environmental Research, the Pearl River Water Resources Commission and the Pearl River Water Resources Academy had full exchanges and discussions on the construction of Macao field station, monitoring and research of the Pearl River Estuary and surrounding waters, research on the water environment of the Pearl River, research on salt tide prevention and control, research on environmental and ecological restoration projects, etc. By taking advantage of the academic exchange report meeting, the Macao Institute of Environmental Research will share the latest research results with the Pearl River Water Conservancy Commission and the Pearl River Water Conservancy Academy, promote scientific research cooperation between the two sides, and jointly contribute to the protection of water conservancy and ecological environment in Macao and Great Bay Area.
Through this academic exchange, the graduate students of Macao Institute of Environment have a deeper understanding of the water environment problems and resource allocation in Macao Bay Area, and also lay a foundation for future scientific research.
