Clinical trials play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of pharmaceuticals, medical treatments, and public well-being. Clinical trials bridge the gap between scientific research and clinical applications in healthcare. In line with the development plan of the State and the SAR government in promoting the 'great health' industry, the M.U.S.T. has reached a strategic cooperation with HKU-CTC and established the Macau’s first clinical trial centre. MUST-CTC would foster collaboration between industry, education, and research, and equip with the expertise and most advanced facilities, technology, and staff to conduct high-quality, ethical, and rigorous research.
The creation of Clinical Trials Centre marks a significant milestone in the development of local medical research and will commit to promoting the development of human medical health, as well as medical innovation based on the principles of protecting volunteers, adhering to science, and ensuring data reliability. At initial stage, the centre plans to carry out research in five major clinical specialities: Oncology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardiology, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. MUST-CTC will serve internal and external medical and scientific researchers, and nurture application-oriented talents in medical research, industry engagement and research consultancy services for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the whole country.
