The major objectives of the IAIM are:
- To construct and establisha medical artificial intelligence innovation research platform, with integrated biomedical big data and cloud computing capabilities.
- To establish industry-universityresearch transformation platform for medicine, science and engineering.
- To integrate the multidisciplinary expertise within the Macau University of Science and Technology.
- To use artificial intelligence and deep learning methods to address unmet medical needs and transform healthcare.
The MIAIM will foster transformational research in the application of artificial intelligence methods and principles to integrate information from basic science research such as genomics, cell biology and pathology, with medical imaging and clinical information. Our research will help establish accurate diagnosis, treatment response, and survival prognosis prediction models. We will also cultivate the next generation of world-class researchers to meet the healthcare challenges of Macau, the Greater Bay Area, China and the rest of the world.
