The Medical Sciences Division Translation Medicine Animal Laboratory(TMAL) serves as an extension of the Laboratory of Animal Models in Translational Medicine under the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine. The laboratory aims to further strengthen cross-disciplinary and innovative translational research at Macau University of Science and Technology, spanning areas such as medicine, Chinese medicine, and space science.
The laboratory coordinates and supports the animal research needs across various research groups at the university. The facilities include infrastructure for high-pressure disinfection, purified ventilation, isolated housing systems, and biosafety cabinets. The lab promotes sharing of equipment resources to improve utilization of advanced instruments across institutes. Additionally, the lab seeks to establish collaborations with major animal research centers in mainland China for high-yield, low-cost partnerships across areas like transgenic mouse breeding, disease model establishment, and drug efficacy/toxicity testing.
