As Part of the 16th Anniversary Celebration, MUST Hosted a Spring Luncheon for Local Journalists

Macau University of Science and Technology hosted a journalists’ spring lunch gathering at the University’s training restaurant, the Seasons, on March 8, 2016; the MUST management and faculty representatives had a warm and happy gathering with a dozen of journalists from the local media organizations. This March coincides with the 16th anniversary of the University, and, by hosting a spring lunch gathering for the journalists, it is hoped that a better communication could be enabled between the University and the local media.

President Liu Liang of MUST spoke at the luncheon, noting that the University would continue to uphold the policy of “attaching equal importance to both teaching and research”, take education as its priority, and make exponential efforts in developing excellent quality education and extraordinary research so as to cater to the moderately diversified development of economy, further the industrialization of research outcomes and move forward the University’s internationalization, and make contributions to fostering the new generation of talents. In the meantime, the University would continue to seize tight three key factors in its development, namely, “innovation”, “quality”, and “effectiveness”, make continual efforts in optimizing its faculty team, and generate the biggest effect in teaching and research with its limited resources.

Before the luncheon, escorted by Mr. Kwong Ying Wa, Administrative Officer of the President’s Office, the media representatives paid a visit to the University’s State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine as well as the Center for Continuing Medical and Health Education and the Center of Excellence for Professional Medical Development of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The journalists noted that they were impressed by the research development, advanced medical equipment, and professional medical training programs of MUST.
