Professor Lin Zhijun appointed as Vice President of MUST

In the course of development of its 18-year history, Macau University of Science and Technology has been adopting the principle of according equal importance to both teaching and research, promoting high quality teaching and research, and improving academic standards so as to meet the needs of the society for further development. In light of the needs of the University, Professor Lin Zhijun is appointed as Vice President of the University in charge of undergraduate teaching and university accreditation, effective from March 1, 2018.

 

Headed by President Liu Liang, joined by Vice President Tong Ka Lok, Vice President Jiang Zhi Hong, Vice President Pang Chuan, Vice President Lin Zhijun, and other senior members with wide academic impacts and rich teaching experience, the management team adds new momentum to the University development, ensuring high quality teaching and extraordinary research, and raised the University profile to a greater height in terms of teaching and research standard.

Professor Lin received his master degree in economics and Ph.D. in economics from Xiamen University, and later obtained a master degree in Business from Saskatchewan University, Canada. He is the first doctor of economics and accounting in China, and currently holds positions in many influential associations, including Deputy Director of the Overseas Academic Exchange Committee of the Accounting Society of China, Vice Chairman of Chinese Affairs of Australian Institute of Certified Management Accountants, the International Association of Accounting Education and Research (IAAER), the American Accounting Association (AAA) and its branch for international affairs, and the Chinese Accounting Professors’ Association of North America.

He owns multiple professional qualifications and extensive teaching experience, has served as professor in universities across the mainland, North America, and Hong Kong. Professor Lin joined MUST in January 2015, serving as Dean of the School of Business; he was appointed as Associate Vice President in February 2017, and has made significant contributions to University teaching and research.

Professor Lin’s main research fields include accounting, auditing, financial management and corporate management. He has published over 60 papers in Chinese and international academic journals, and 13 monographs, university textbooks and translation works. He is also deputy editor or member of editors’ board of many Chinese and international journals. He has been awarded multiple research grants, including the National Natural Science Foundation, the Research Fund of the Hong Kong Government, and university research grants, and he also worked as consultant on management practices.
