On behalf of the Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government, Lin Rituan, Director of Zhuhai Education Bureau, signed a cooperative education agreement with Liu Liang, President of Macau University of Science and Technology. The signing ceremony was attended and witnessed by Liu Chak Wan, Standing Committee Member of the CPPCC National Committee, Chairman of University Council and Chancellor of M.U.S.T., Yao Yisheng, Deputy Secretary of the Zhuhai Municipal Party Committee, and Mayor of Zhuhai, Zhu Chaohua, Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, Guo Caiwu, Standing Committee Member of the Zhuhai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Head of the Zhuhai United Front Work Department, and Tong Ka Lok, Vice President of M.U.S.T.
The signing of this agreement is to further implement the "Strategic Cooperation Agreement" (signed in May 2019) in the new era. The cooperative education agreement helps Zhuhai give full play to its advantages in building the Pan Pearl River Delta National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, presents an opportunity for M.U.S.T. to bring its strength in talents and research into play, properly solves the problem of land use for M.U.S.T., conforms to the development of education in the Greater Bay Area, and gathers outstanding talents and scientific research forces at home and abroad. As a result, the integrated development of Zhuhai-Macau higher education will be promoted, the cooperation among government, industry, university, and research will be strengthened, the social and economic development of Zhuhai will be assisted, and the construction of a Global Science and Technology Innovation Center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will be facilitated.
