The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) hosted the first lecture of the “Seminars by the Restaurant Managers” entitled “Chefs Journey” given by Mr. Matthew Helm, President of the Macau Culinary Association, on March 12, 2021. During the lecture, Mr. Matthew Helm shared with the students his story of growing from an apprentice to a professional chef through continued study and practice at different hotels around the world, and discussed with them about the basic qualification, knowledge and skills required for a professional chef. At last he stressed that an excellent chef need not only rich practice, but also rich professional knowledge by reading books to gain experience. The seminar was sponsored by the Macau Foundation.
