M.U.S.T. FHTM Graduation Ceremony 2021

The Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) was held in the afternoon of June 6, 2021 at the Auditorium of the Teaching Building in Block R. Under the witness of more than 300 industry guests, teachers, relatives, and friends, two hundred FHTM graduates were presented with graduation certificates.

Mr. Kwong Ying Wa, Vice President of M.U.S.T. and Professor Ben. K Goh, Dean of Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management attended the ceremony and presented the graduation certificates to Graduates of Master of International Tourism Management, Bachelor of International Tourism Management, Bachelor of Hotel Management, and Bachelor of Food and Beverage Management. Officiating guests at the ceremony also included Professor Aliana Leong, Dean of School of Liberal Arts, Miss Amy Chu, Vice Dean of F.H.T.M., and members of the faculty’s Advisory Board: Mr. John Sloane, Assistant Senior Vice President of F&B Operations and Culinary of Galaxy Macau, Ms. Peck Yoke Chan, Vice President, Human Resources - Recruitment & Expatriate Services of MELCO Resorts, Mr. Francis Tan, Vice President of Learning & Talent Management of MGM, Mr. Alfred Ng, Director of Macau Services Division of Shun Tak Turbojet, Ms. Betty Fung, Owner and Executive Chef of Café Bonbon, Ms. Tah Way Ing, Director of Training of Mandarin Oriental Macau; and other guests including Mr. SP Kuan, Executive Director of Food and Beverage of Wynn Macau, Mr. Vincent Ieong, Chairman of Macau Food & Beverage Industry Development Association, Ms. Sophia Mok, Director of Marketing Services and Public Relations of Lisboeta Macau, Mr. Bobby Wong, Assistant Vice President of Asian Culinary of Galaxy Macau, Mr. Paul Wong, Chairman of Travel Industry Council of Macau, Mr. Huiyu Chen, Human Resources Business Partner of Heytea, as well as teachers, staff, parents, and friends of the graduates.

Dean Ben. K. Goh welcomed the guests, congratulated the graduates on their successful accomplishments and pointed out that the Graduation Ceremony is also known as Commencement. The word “Commencement ” is defined as “a beginning or a start”. That day is not the end of their journey, but is the beginning of a great future for each of the students. He hoped every student would continue to be a lifelong learner, as everyone steps out into the real world. His wishes for the 2021 FTHM graduating class was for them to become responsible citizens who love Macao and their country, and to be good sons and daughters. He hoped the graduates leave M.U.S.T. with fond memories, and that in the future they return to share the memories with the students as a mentors, with teachers as friends, and engage as ALUMNI of MUST-FHTM!

As representatives of outstanding graduates, Liao Yaping, graduate of Master of International Tourism Management, and Chen Yue, graduate of Bachelor of Food and Beverage Management, delivered speeches on behalf of all the graduates. They expressed their gratitude to the alma mater for providing a supportive learning environment. With the help of professional and enthusiastic teachers from FHTM they gained practical experience from well-known companies, made friends and feel pride of their achievements. The most important thing is to have understood that self-discipline and persistence are the important elements of one's future success. They will forge ahead to create a better and brighter tomorrow of their own with the blessings of the alma mater and the expectations of the teachers, parents and friends.
