Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management Hosted New Student Orientation of Year 2021/2022

To celebrate the new academic year and to help new students to better adapt to campus life, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) hosted the New Student Orientation on the 18th of September at Block R, Grand Auditorium (also via Zoom) to welcome the teachers and new students.

Over 150 teachers and students were present for the event. The FHTM Student Union provided entertainment to welcome all the new students and wished them a great new start.

Professor Ben Goh, Dean of FHTM, delivered a welcoming speech with valuable ideas and wonderful wishes to the new students. He encouraged new students to be healthy both physically and mentally, to develop good study habits, to participate in Faculty and University activities, to have good morals and ethics, to get to know the teachers and friends, and to try to learn more languages.

Program Director, Dr. Jose Wong Weng Chou, introduced the background of FHTM and each faculty teacher to the audience.

During the orientation, current students were awarded the “Dean’s Honor List” in recognition of their excellence in the 2020/2021 academic year, and the “FHTM Team Excellent Helper” in appreciation of their contributions to FHTM activities.

Lastly, the President of FHTM student Union, Frank Chung, introduced the student union and membership related matters. All the teachers and students who attended the New Student Orientation took a group photo, and the event ended successfully in a harmonious atmosphere.
