FHTM Faculties and Doctoral Students Participated in the FEBM 2021 Conference

On October 16 and 17, 2021, Program Director Dr. Jose Wong, Dr. Feng Yan and Doctoral Students of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (M.U.S.T.) attended the 6th International Conference on Economics and Business Management (FEBM2021). The conference was held and organized by the School of Economics and Management of the University of Science and Technology Beijing, the Lally School of Management of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and other institutions. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference meeting originally scheduled in Sanya, Hainan was changed to an online meeting. The purpose of this conference is to promote the communication of relevant experts in the field of economics and business management, provide an international exchange platform for experts, scholars, and business professionals to share the latest research results, discuss existing problems and challenges, and explore future business development trends. This conference attracted experts from the Shanghai International Studies University, University of Edinburgh, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Macau University of Science and Technology, Nanchang Institute of Technology, University of Vaasa, and other scholars from research institutes.

FEBM 2021 Virtual Conference

Dr. Jose Weng Chou Wong, Associate Professor from the FHTM, was invited to be the keynote speaker of the FEBM 2021 conference. Dr. Wong illustrated his recent ESI highly cited article in the topic of COVID-19 and presented the speech “The new trend of hospitality and tourism studies in the during and post-Covid-19 era”. This speech systematically reviewed the existing literature in the field of hospitality and tourism during COVID-19, analyzed the mainstream of these studies, and discussed the future research trend in the era of post-COVID-19. In addition, assistant professor Dr. Feng Yan from FHTM gave an oral presentation of crisis management. Ph.D. students Wang Shan and Bai Xiaopeng also reported their research topics in the field of COVID-19 research and tourism experience, respectively. The reports in this conference effectively demonstrate teachers and students’ research ability and outcome in their specialized field.

The participation in the FEBM 2021 conference was funded by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao S.A.R. Government. FHTM will continue to put efforts on quality education and research development, and ceaselessly contribute to the development of tourism education and training in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
