On March 4, 2023, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) was invited to participate in the “4th Member Congress of the Tourism Education Branch of the China Tourism Association and the China Tourism Education Forum”. FHTM Dean Ben K. Goh attended the meeting on behalf of the faculty and gave a speech at the roundtable forum.
The conference was organized by the Tourism Education Branch of the China Tourism Association and the School of Tourism of Sun Yat-sen University; co-organized by the Teaching Steering Committee of Tourism Management for Undergraduate Universities of Guangdong Province, Beijing Xunzhen Digital Technology Co., Ltd., Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance, and a major art project of the National Social Science Foundation "Research on Talent Training Strategy, Path and Countermeasures in the Culture and Tourism Industry"; and jointly supported by the Beijing Dingsheng Nuolan Technology Co., Ltd., New Era Cultural Tourism Vocational Education Research Institute, and Shanghai Zhaofan Software Co., Ltd.
Under the theme Challenge, Change and Action, the forum invited leaders of the Tourism Education Branch of the China Tourism Association, well-known experts, and scholars of tourism education, to discuss the configuration of national first-class professions under the background of new liberal arts, considering the hotel industry in the post-epidemic era and the high-quality development of tourism vocational education. The conference invited famous scholars and experts from top universities across the country, including Sun Yat-sen University, Fudan University, Huaqiao University, Hainan University, Yunnan University, Nankai University, Xiamen University, Hubei University, South China Normal University, Shanghai Normal University, and others.
China Tourism Education Forum
FHTM Dean Ben K. Goh delivered a speech on the theme of the parallel roundtable forum "New Challenges and Responses to Tourism Major Enrollment and Professional Cognition", shared insights about tourism education innovations, discussed in depth the transformation and upgrading of the tourism major, and proposed countermeasures for enrollment and professional cognition.

FHTM will continue to strengthen cooperation with other universities, improve teaching and research standards, actively participate in the innovation of tourism education, explore the transformation and upgrading of the tourism major, and take practical actions to meet the challenges of tourism education talent training in the new era.
