On March 18th, 2023, the opening ceremony of the MICE Executive Program co-organized by the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T) and PICO Group was held at the Macau University of Science and Technology. The program aims to work closely with the MICE industry to jointly cultivate elite professionals in the Greater China region and actively promote the sustainable development of the MICE industry. The officiating guests include Ms. Chan Si Nga, Director of Macau Fair and Trade Association, Mr. Alan Ho Hoi Ming, President of Macao Association of Convention, Exhibition & Tourism Sectors, Mr. Danny Ku, President of PICO Group, China, Ms. Rita Lui, Executive Director of PICO South China, Mr. Jiang Hao, CEO of China Unicom WoCheng, Ms. Selina Kam, Director of HR & Admin of PICO Group, China, Professor Ben K. Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of FHTM (M.U.S.T.) delivered a welcome speech and expressed that it was a great honor to co-organize the MICE Executive Program with Pico Group. In the past 23 years, the Macau University of Science and Technology has made remarkable progress and all the programs of FHTM have been certified by TedQual of the United Nations World Tourism Organization. As part of our mission, we continuously engaged all stakeholders to further contribute to Macao’s social and economic development. With the aim of promoting tourism and hospitality in Macao, the FHTM devotes to talent development and cultivation in the hospitality industry through cooperation with industry partners and academic institutions. It is sincerely hoped that this partnership with PICO Group can contribute to the vision of developing Macao into a talent cultivation base for tourism and hospitality. On behalf of the PICO Group, Mr. Danny Ku expressed warm congratulations on the 23rd anniversary of the Macau University of Science and Technology. At the same time, he hoped that combining PICO’s more than 50 years of practical experience in the convention and exhibition industry with the rich research results of FHTM will cultivate professional talents for China’s convention and exhibition industry, empower the industry, and assist the rapid development of China's economy. Finally, to express gratitude to all the teachers, Dean Ben K. Goh presented them with certificates.

After the opening ceremony, Dean Ben K. Goh, Ms. Chan Si Nga, and Mr. Alan Ho Hoi Ming started the MICE Executive Program. The trainees participating in this course mainly come from the mid to high-level management teams of the MICE industry in Macao and the Mainland. After the classes on the first day, they said that being able to listen closely to the industry experts and scholars at M.U.S.T. was very meaningful and rewarding, and will be looking forward to future courses. They hoped that through this MICE Executive Program, they will expand their industry thinking, strengthen their professional skills, and contribute to the development of the exhibition industry in the post-epidemic era.
