MUST Library, Celebrating the Cooperation Library of NSTL

To enhance the service ability specially the Document Delivery Service, and improve the information sharing system, on 18th Oct, 2013, MUST Library held a signing ceremony of “National Science and Technology Library (NSTL) Cooperation Library in Macau”.

National Science and Technology Library, also known as NSTL, is an important Sci-Tech document and information service institution in China. As an information sharing system, it takes an important role in supporting Chinese science and technology research and education, yearly operation cost is estimated around several hundred millions Yuan. The growing number of foreign documents and information resource accumulated by NSTL has effectively enhanced China’s support capabilities of Sci-Tech document and information resources. As the highest ranking in Mainland China, NSTL has the resources of over 25000 foreign literatures, including over 17000 foreign journals, and 8000 foreign conference proceedings. At the same time, NSTL also holds a magnanimity amount of scientific and technology reports. To extend its “The four places across the strait” service, NSTL has chosen MUST Library as the first cooperation library of NSTL outside mainland China. For MUST Library, the cooperation will be a big enhancement to the existing high quality services.

Before the ceremony, President Liu Liang, Associate Vice President Jiang Zhi Hong , and University Librarian Dai Long Ji, greeted NSTL’s Director, Mr. Yuan Hai Bo, Network Director Hu Tie Jun and Service Group Leader Cai Zhi Yong. Director Yuan Hai Bo presented MUST Library a “National Science and Technology Library” plaque. During the ceremony, University Librarian Dai Long Ji and Mr. Yuan Hai Bo singed the cooperation agreement. Associate Vice President Jiang Zhi Hong and Director Yuan Hai Bo officially activate the service. Collagenous from MUST Library, Macau Polytechnic Institute Library, Macau Tourism Library, Kiang Wu Hospital Library, Kiang Wu Nursing College Library, and Police Force of Macau Library also invited to the signing ceremony. After the ceremony, NSTL conducted a service and resources training as well as a Question and Answer (Q&A) section.

MUST Library has built resources sharing cooperation with National Library of China, Peking University Library, the Chinese Ministry of Education Social Science Humanities Documentation Center (Academic Humanities and Social Science Library (CASHL), the CALIS system (CALIS), the Chinese University of Hong Kong Libraries and national Taiwan University, and carries out with four places of many famous libraries interlibrary Cooperation and Resource Sharing plan. The cooperation of NSTL and MUST Library means the service ability of document Delivery Service will be further upgraded to a higher level.
