Brief Biography of Prof A C Tsoi
Professor Tsoi Ah-Chung studied Electronic Engineering at the Hong Kong Technical College; Electronic Control Engineering and Control Engineering at University of Salford, England, where he obtained a MSc and a PhD degree in 1970 and 1972 respectively, and has served as Professor of Electrical Engineering at University of Queensland, Australia; Dean, Director of Information Technology Services, and then foundation Pro-Vice Chancellor (Information Technology and Communications) at University of Wollongong; Executive Director, Mathematics, Information and Communications Sciences Interdisciplinary cluster, Australian Research Council, Director, Monash e-Research Centre, Monash University, and Vice President (Research and Institutional Advancement), Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong. In September 2010, he took up the position of Dean, Faculty of Information Technology, Macau University of Science and Technology.
Brief Biography of Dr D Li
Dr Li received a BE from Yunnan University, a ME and a PhD from Sun Yat-Sen University. He was a partime lecturer in the Faculty for 6 months before being employed full time as an assistant professor in 2010.
Brief Biography of Dr Q L Zhao
Dr Zhao received a bachelor degree from Hubei University, a Masters degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and a PhD degree in Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. He worked as a postdoc in Chinese University of Hong Kong 2005 - 2006, and another postdoc in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology 2006 - 2009, before he became an assistant professor in the Faculty in 2009.
Brief Biography of Prof Francis Y L Chin
Professor Chin received his B.A.Sc. degree from the University of Toronto in 1972, and his M.S., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University in 1974, 1975, and 1976, respectively. Prior to joining The University of Hong Kong in 1985, he had taught at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; the University of California, San Diego; the University of Alberta; the Chinese University of Hong Kong; and the University of Texas at Dallas. Professor Chin is the Chair of the Department of Computer Science at HKU and was the founding Head of the Department from its establishment until December 31, 1999. From 2002 until July 31, 2006, he had served as the Associate Dean of the Graduate School. Since 2007, Prof Chin has been serving as an Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
