To enhance university students' ability to use financial and accounting information for business research, and promote the exchange of financial and accounting education among universities in Macao, the Accounting Society of the University of Macau Students' Union organized the tenth "Rui Suan" Accounting Knowledge Competition among Macao universities.

the School of Business of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.)has selected three teams that won the preliminary round of competition held earlierto participate in the upcoming final competition

The final competition was held successfully on April 13, 2024, at UM. The final competition case discussed the accounting standards, performance evaluation, and reward systems of ABC Life Insurance Co., Ltd. Related to its Hong Kong and Macau branches. Participants analyzed and discussed the differences in the application of the Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards 17 (HKFRS 17) and the 2015 edition of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) adopted in Macau.

The competition was intense; the six competiting teams delivered speeches and shared insights, demonstrating their deep knowledge of the subject. Three judges, Professor Chan Wing Hang from UM, Professor Jian Pu from M.U.S.T., and Mr. Chan Dak Wing from CPA Australia, provided professional feedback on the presentations. The contestants benefited greatly from the peer team’s speeches and the judges' comments, deepening their understanding of the relevant accounting knowledge.

"Lao Wang Beef Balls Team" won the championship (Team from the School of Business of M.U.S.T.)

The "Answer Anything Correct Team" won the second runner-up (Team from the School of Business of M.U.S.T.)

The School of Business of M.U.S.T. performed exceptionally well, with the "Lao Wang Beef Balls Team" (including Wang Zhe, Han Wanrong, Bai Yunfei, Yang Tingruo, and Yu Yuntong) winning the championship, and the "Answer Anything Correct Team" (including Yang Zixuan, Yun Qianshan, Zhang Zheng, and Fan Keyu) securing third place.

The "Rui Suan" Accounting Knowledge Competition concluded successfully. Business school students from Macao higher education institutions make new friends from different institutions, spark new ideas through brainstorming, and gain valuable experience from professional interaction.
