Background:
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has organized the One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition since 2011. In 2016, the Competition has been extended to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Macao and Beijing and the Grand Final Competition was held in Nansha District of Guangzhou.
The Competition has become a platform where students can get connected with entrepreneurs and investors. It provides an opportunity for young entrepreneurs from Guangdong, Beijing, Hong Kong and Macao to communicate, cooperate and compete, in which it helps to enhance their mutual understanding. Besides, it facilitates the culture exchange and economic cooperation among different regions. The University of Macau is invited to be the co-organizer of the Macao Regional Competition.
Objective:
- To promote entrepreneurial culture and discover potential business plans.
- To foster and encourage more Macao University students to start up their businesses.
Team and Eligibility:
The size of each team must be between 2 to 5 members, among which at least 1 member or above should be
1) Current tertiary students of Macao higher education institutes; or
2) Macao residents studying in higher education institutes overseas.
