Bachelor of Biomedicine Curriculum

The courses in the Bachelor’s Degree of Biomedicine include Public Elementary, Basic Theory in Western & Chinese Medicine, and Professional & Instructional Practice. To earn the Degree, the students must obtain 180 credits and pass all the exams (note: students can’t apply for the vocational qualification of Chinese Medicine in Macao). During the study period, students can apply the course-transition for the Bachelor’s Degree of Chinese Medicine.

 

Clinical Practice is arranged at the sixth semester and last for 10 weeks. Students will have practice on Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture &Moxibustion.

 

Syllabus

1. Academic field: Chinese Medicine.

2. Study Period: The general study period of this curriculum is four years. Students should complete a total of 180 credits as follows: 129 compulsory credits, 8 elective credits, 39 general education credits and 4 clinical practice credits.

*Students must choose and complete 8 credits from elective courses.

sClinical Practice for Internal Medicine and Acupuncture & Moxibustion is arranged at the sixth semester and will last for 10 weeks.

sStudents must complete 35 credits from general education compulsory courses.

sStudents must complete 4 credits from general education elective courses as follows: 2 credits for social sciences and human sciences, and 2 credits for art and language.

 

Graduation Requirements

Upon approval from the Senate of the University, a Bachelor’s Degree will be conferred on a student when he or she has:

1. completed and met the requirements prescribed in the study plan of his or her program within the specific period;*

2. abided by the regulations of the University;

3. cleared all fees and charges and returned all University property and equipment borrowed.

* Students admitted from the academic year 2017/2018 onwards are required to achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above in order to graduate.
